2011-07-19 - NJ Tunas Biting Good
We've been slammed busy here and have not had much time to put in reports. LOW PROFILE, our 55' Custom Carolina boat arrived from Hatteras about a week ago, when OVER UNDER arrived in NC from the Bahamas. OVER UNDER will fish out of Hatteras until the Fall, when LOW PROFILE heads back down to NC. Until then both LOW PROFILE and JUSTIFIED are fishing for Tuna, Marlin, Dolphin, Sharks and Swords in the NJ Canyons.

Tuna Fishing remains good here in NJ. Yellowfin have moved inside to 30 fathoms all ready and the white marlin bite is again heating up in the deep. The Bluefin Tuna are mostly up above us all ready, but some nicer fish remain to be had here and there. We've fished from the Toms Canyon, to below the Poormans and inside from the Hot Dog up to the Lobster Claw. Basically, we've been all over the place chasing the Tunas over the last few weeks. Our 22 hour trips continue to be the best producers, but we've run plenty of good 16 hour trips and are now even able to put a catch together on the 12 hours with the tunas inside on the 30 fathom curve, which hopefully will last...time will tell.

Time to go fishing for sure. The chunk bite is starting to happen and jigging has been very productive on the inshore lumps.

Tight LInes,

The Over Under Crew
