Islamorada Fishing Report The winds have been strong most of the week, which has made getting out tough here in the Florida Keys. The sailfish bite was great at the beginning of the week. The numbers were good, with anywhere from 9 to 15 fish being released per boat . As the week went on it slowed a bit, but there was still plenty of action. The reef got slow due to the wind pushing the cold water out of the back side. This has a negative effect on the shallow water fishing. The colder water shocks the reef life and the fish get what we like to call “clam mouth”. They just don’t want to eat. We do however need this to get things going. This should get the mackerel and grouper biting with a little more frequency. Capt.John Oughton cell 305-481-6527 john@overunderadventures.com
